World Cup Challenge - Update Week 2

World Cup Challenge - Update Week 2

25/06/2014

Just to rub salt into the open wound Costa Rica pulled off an incredible win against Italy to ensure their qualification and send England home early.

The World Cup is producing some exciting football and this week we saw some great games including:

  • Ghana achieving an excellent draw against Germany
  • Algeria running rampant against South Korea
  • and France scoring 5 against Switzerland.

We hope even with England's early dismissal from the competition you are looking forward to the start of the 3rd week and some great football.

Japan and Columbia played out an exciting game with the result eventually seeing Colombia through to the next round.

The results were:

  • Uruguay 2 v England 1
  • Belgium 1 v Russia 0
  • Japan 1 v Columbia 4

Tie Break answer - Predict the total number of goals in the above 3 games - 9

After all the results were reveiwed the winner of the second week predictions was Joanne Harper-Hill from One Insurance Solution who scored 12 points but won by predicting the correct number of goals in the tie break question.

Congratulations to Joanne and good luck to everyone in Week Three.
